The film was released in Japanese theaters on August 9, 2019, and premiered in Munich on January 23, 2020, and was released in German and Austrian theaters five days later. On June 22, the film was released on DVD and Blu-ray with German dubbing.

Ruffy, now left to his own devices, got into several confrontations, which in turn drew nationwide attention to him and led to his unmasking. In order to protect his new friends from Okobore, Ruffy immediately hurriedly made his way from their hiding place back to the village, but he could not prevent Kaido, in the form of a giant dragon into which he can transform himself due to the power of a zoan fruit, from sending a powerful energy beam that destroyed the entire ruins. Furious with anger, the rubber boy therefore decided to immediately seek a duel with Kaido, contrary to their plan.
